Seminar week 6

Here we are in week 6 and our final paper is due in 7 days.
I found seminar this week to be very helpful. The different stages that a paper should have starting with the Exordium, Narratio, The Propositio, The Divisio, The Confirmatio, The refutatio, and the Peroratio. Personally I have never heard of any of these so I took notes (with a pen).
It makes sense to start with a paragraph that makes the reader ask "why am I reading this?" This is where you should catch their attention.
Then to narrate the story which you are about to tell. Let the reader know what the background to your story is.
So go ahead answer the question. It only takes one sentence at the end of a paragraph to tell all.
So next lets divide all the parts of what you have put into your first paragraph (exordium) and start letting the readers understand where you are going with this.
Next is where we try to solve the problem in clear and concise steps. Remember we promised to do this in our last conversation, (the divisio).
Now we should go ahead and recognize the opposing side to our story. Is there conflict? Could we be wrong? Are there others out there that have a different opinion than ours? Of course there is, we all have many different opinions, and don't you think that if we all come together to discuss these ways that we just might find common ground?
We have finally reached our destination. Lets get down to business and make our ultimate point. Here is what our paper is all about. Here we will tell what all this information means. This is our conclusion. the Peroratio.
Now if I have left anything out let me know. I have to go back now and make sure I have all these things in my paper. Which I am sure I do NOT at this time. In my opinion this seminar should have been week 2 or 3. This was a very informative lesson. I might be able to write a great paper someday.
Good luck to all. See you next week in seminar. Until then...
