week 9
Here we are in our last week of this term. I have found that writing is just not my thing. However I have learned many things that I can use if I ever have to write a paper again.
I have enjoyed reading my classmates blogs very much, some more than other as you know. I'm not one to share my intermost personal thoughts so I don't enjoy reading others.
Getting to the point THIS TERM IS OVER and I hope that you all have a great time in school and get to where you are headed in life.
Good Luck to us all.

week 8
Well classmates week 8 is upon us. I see there are some new people posting this week. I hope you all enjoy blogging as this is a good way to get to know your classmates...
Not too much to write about. I lost a good friend this week and it is taking a bit out of me to concentrate on school and work or anything for that matter.
I know there are some of you that are fighting this battle also, but you know it is coming and I hope that you take the time to really listen to what your loved ones are saying. I didn't have this time, Rick lost his life very quickly. He leaves behind 5 children a granddaughter and a grandson on the way in November. Our last phone call I could tell he was so excited about having a grandson. I hope his son understands the love he has for his unborn child.
Until we meet again Rick...

Seminar week 7
This week we took time to cover our drafts. Did we get answers to our questions? How do we procede now that we have had some critisism? I for one enjoy the converstations that we have in class. It helps me go over in my head what should come out on my paper. I think that each and every one of you has played an important part in my school "adventure." I would like to thank you all for your help.
As you can see I am just babbling because I don't really have anything to say here.
I'll see you all next week in seminar.

Seminar week 6
Here we are in week 6 and our final paper is due in 7 days.
I found seminar this week to be very helpful. The different stages that a paper should have starting with the Exordium, Narratio, The Propositio, The Divisio, The Confirmatio, The refutatio, and the Peroratio. Personally I have never heard of any of these so I took notes (with a pen).
It makes sense to start with a paragraph that makes the reader ask "why am I reading this?" This is where you should catch their attention.
Then to narrate the story which you are about to tell. Let the reader know what the background to your story is.
So go ahead answer the question. It only takes one sentence at the end of a paragraph to tell all.
So next lets divide all the parts of what you have put into your first paragraph (exordium) and start letting the readers understand where you are going with this.
Next is where we try to solve the problem in clear and concise steps. Remember we promised to do this in our last conversation, (the divisio).
Now we should go ahead and recognize the opposing side to our story. Is there conflict? Could we be wrong? Are there others out there that have a different opinion than ours? Of course there is, we all have many different opinions, and don't you think that if we all come together to discuss these ways that we just might find common ground?
We have finally reached our destination. Lets get down to business and make our ultimate point. Here is what our paper is all about. Here we will tell what all this information means. This is our conclusion. the Peroratio.
Now if I have left anything out let me know. I have to go back now and make sure I have all these things in my paper. Which I am sure I do NOT at this time. In my opinion this seminar should have been week 2 or 3. This was a very informative lesson. I might be able to write a great paper someday.
Good luck to all. See you next week in seminar. Until then...
